Ingwe TVET College has proudly received an unqualified audit opinion with no material findings, commonly referred to as a Clean Audit Opinion for the 2024 financial year, marking a significant achievement in its commitment to sound financial management and institutional accountability.
This means the college’s financial statements were free from any material misstatements, and there were also no significant issues related to non-compliance with
legislation.
This accomplishment reflects the college’s dedication to transparency, effective internal controls, and responsible use of public funds. It also highlights the leadership of the college’s Council, the entire Management Team and the diligence of its finance department as well as full compliance to laws and regulations. A clean audit is the highest accolade an institution can receive from the Auditor-General of South Africa. It indicates that:
- Financial records are accurate and complete.
- There is full compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- There is oversight by Governance and assurance is provided by the Internal Audit Activity
This outcome not only boosts public confidence in the College but also strengthens its credibility with all stakeholders, including funders & potential funders, students, parents, andthe Departments.
Ingwe TVET College, with campuses across the Eastern Cape including Mount Frere, Maluti, Mt Fletcher, Lusikisiki, and Bizana, plays a vital role in providing vocational and technical education to thousands of students. The clean audit reinforces its position as a well-managed institution capable of delivering quality education while maintaining financial integrity.
The college’s achievement sets a benchmark for other institutions in the TVET sector. It also aligns with national goals of improving governance and accountability in public education.
